Henry Fischer – Al Carrer Skateshop

Going to do our best not to get too emotional here, but if you’re familiar with Al Carrer Skateshop, the family behind it and everything they do for the scene in Barcelona, you already know it’s not going to be easy… Especially because, as much as a banging Henry Fischer part filmed by (and featuring) his dad Leandro lends itself to opening conversations around the hereditary nature of style (see also Steve/Alex Olson, Tony/Riley Hawk, Chris/Zach Miller etc.), what really stood out to us with this one was this palpable transmission of love for our culture and what makes it so special.

Henry has copious amounts of natural talent, there’s no denying that, but where he sets himself apart from the hundreds of other insanely good kids his age, flipping in and out of all sorts of madness at skateparks on your explore feed, is that he’s been passed on this passion in such a beautiful way, immersed in all this energy that’s constantly feeding his curiosity and developing his tastes, that it can only lead to great things.

Because at the end of the day, he’s a teenager (just 16) living in the Skateboarding Mecca… How easy would it be for him to fall into the trap of stagnating at the same dreamy plazas day in day out? But no, he was practically born with the bug: all he wants to do is explore his city, travel and create lasting memories with the people that are dear to him. Values that are all deeply embedded in the shop’s DNA (hence, Preserve La Cultura).
